Sister Purrr Do

Abbess (President) & Co-Founder
Picture
Sister Purrr Do was called to service in May of 2014, and officially became an Aspirant in June of that year. Working with the founding mother of the Indiana Crossroads Sisters, Abbey of the Shimmering Silo (Sister Nova Aggra), Purrr Do has incorporated a passion for education, activism, travel, and fighting HIV/AIDS into her mission. After three months, she was elevated to Postulant, and in January of 2015 she was elevated to Novice. One highlight of her experience has been connecting students studying social change and queer identity with international Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in Paris and Berlin through an LGBTQ Study Abroad program she co-teaches. When our founding mother returned to California in July 2016, Sister Purrr Do was asked to serve as the Abbess of the Indiana Crossroads Sisters.

A part of her calling is the #SistersWithoutBorders mission bridging Houses around the world through collaboration, visits, support, and regular communication. Sister Purrr Do has manifested with Houses across North America as well as in France, Germany, England, and Scotland. Some highlights of her experiences have been attending the Berlin Conclave in 2016, attending the Exequatur of the Sisters of the Blue Moon in Bristol, UK in 2018 (the first exequatur outside of North America), Protesting at the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC during the 2017 National Equality March, and speaking on a panel of Sisters about drag as resistance at RuPaul's DragCon. Most important to her, however are the personal interactions, meetings, conversations, hugs, and blessings shared during each connection made along her travels.

She is honored to be in community with the members of the Indiana Crossroads Sisters, Abbey of the Shimmering Silos - particularly as our order is growing, learning together, serving others, and promulgating JOY! She elevated to Fully Professed Sister along with the house on August 21, 2017!
